Carlie Ransom, CFP®, AIF® guides intentional professionals toward a world of possibility as they design a values-aligned next chapter—whether that’s rest, reinvention, or retirement. She blends technical expertise with genuine curiosity, giving clients both the framework to imagine and the strategic skills to make their vision real.

Her path wasn’t linear. Carlie began as a single science teacher in Seattle—buying an investment property out of necessity—and noticed how people like her lacked clear financial guidance. To fix this, she joined a traditional planning firm in 2015, managing millions of dollars for hundreds of physicians and impact-driven leaders while learning the financial system’s strengths and blind spots.

In 2024, following her own values-driven pivot away from a sales-first model, Carlie partnered with Danielle Hines, Maj., JD/LL.M, to launch Equal Path Investments—an education-first, flat-fee firm built on teaching the “why…” and inspiring the “what if…?”

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Professional and Accredited Investment Fiduciary®, Carlie brings both analytical precision and authentic experience and guides clients with the practical wisdom of someone who's walked the purpose-aligned path and knows how to turn vision into reality.

Who she works with:
Her clients are growth-oriented professionals—often but not always GenX—who’ve built financial stability and now seek their next chapter. They value evidence-based advice but also ask deeper questions about purpose, joy, and alignment, all while balancing career demands, community responsibilities, and the desire for meaningful change.

Fun Facts:
Mrs. Ransom’s pragmatic optimism has fueled a journey of impact, adventure, and joy:

  • Collaborated with Nobel laureate Dr. Leland Hartwell on sustainability curriculum during his transition from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center president

  • Guest-starred on the Niskiwaki, Japan TV show “Happy English”

  • Lived at Mt. Baker Ski Area’s employee lodge during the 1998–99 world-record snowfall season

  • Secured millions of dollars for green technology and financial inclusion

These varied experiences shaped Carlie's unique perspective on life and finance, ultimately informing her approach to financial planning, the WATER Framework, and her vision for a more inclusive and innovative industry. At its core, Equal Path Investments serves as a catalyst, empowering clients to bring their boldest ideas to life while achieving their financial goals.

On the personal side, Carlie recently moved back to the Pacific Northwest with her family. She lives in Tacoma, WA with her husband, two boys, a hedgehog, and a dog-like cat. When not at work, you'll find her cheering at her kids' sports games (Go Tacoma Swish and UP Lacrosse!), enjoying their jazz band performances, or laughing with friends and family around the wondrous PNW and beyond.
